The earliest reference to Lemongrass Oil is found in ancient Sanskrit literature dating back some 2000 years. At the time the leaves and their oil were used in religious ceremonies and also for perfumes.
Lemongrass has a long history of use in traditional Indian medicine, particularly against infectious illnesses and fevers.
Lemongrass Oil has a refreshing, tonic and stimulating effect.
Like all lemon-scented oils, it is also used as an insect repellent.
